Amish Vanilla Pie by www.country-cooking.com
1/4 c Granulated sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Molasses or light corn syrup
1 c Water
1 Egg; well beaten
1 tb Flour
1 ts Vanilla
1 9" unbaked pie shell
-----crumbs-----
1 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Brown sugar
1/4 c Lard, butter; margerine or
Shortening
Combine all the above ingredients, except the vanilla, in a saucepan. Bring
CRUMBS Melt shortening. Stir in dry ingredients. Crumble mixture over pie
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 50 to 60 minutes.
